AUTOCLAVE PROCEDURE <br /> POLICY: <br /> When appropriate, instruments used in the clinic shall be <br /> autoclaved according to the procedure below. They shall be <br /> considered sterile for a period of 6 months when packaged <br /> dated, stored according to this procedure. <br /> PROCEDURE: <br /> Using gloves, clean all instruments with Septisol and rinse <br /> thoroughly prior to packaging. <br /> Medi-Puls packaging shall be used for containers . <br /> Insert instruments Into package and close securely. Date <br /> package . <br /> Place packages loosely in autoclave tray in chamber and close <br /> door . <br /> Proceed according to sterilizing instructions attached to <br /> autoclave. <br /> Allow packages to air dry thoroughly prior to removal from <br /> chamber . <br /> Check to be sure the word STERILE appears on the package. <br /> Note on autoclave log. <br />
