- 2 -
All our wastes would have an asbestos content of approximately 15
percent. We generate waste in two forms.
x
A. Dry waste. This waste results from breakage
and off-spec production, machine trimmings
from lathes and saws and dust control equipment.
B. Process wastes in a sludge form: Slurries
containing small amounts of our three raw
materials are pumped out to large settling ponds.
The settling ponds gradually build up with
solids. Sludge (60% water content) is removed
and buried.
At this time, all disposal of waste "A" and "B" above is by burial on
our plant property.
Based on the above information, we request your answers to the following:
1. Are the wastes generated in our manufacturing
process classified as f0hazardous" by your Agency?
2. What if any, permits, fees, regulations or reporting
would be required by your Agency?
If you need any additional information please contact me.
Sincerely yours,, °
Cecil P.
