The schedule was prepared by
Kleinfelder,Incorporated and received by our office on 26 December 1991.
Our records indicate that you intend to address cleanup of asbestos wastes at the facility
through closure as one or more unclassified waste management units under Title 23,
California Code of Regulations (CCR), Division 3,Chapter 15. Because the most
significant potential environmental impact from the site is airborne asbestos, local
agencies should be contacted to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA).
Based on our review of the proposed task schedule, please comply with the following:
Task Compliance Date
1. Submit Site Soil Assessment Report that addresses 15 February 1992
further definition of the extent of asbestos contamination.
2. Submit for approval, the RWD for closure and closure 1 May 1992
schedule.
3. Submit proposed closure project information to local agencies 1 May 1992
for CEQA compliance.
Please note that,in contrast to the proposed time schedule which assumes that the closure
plan is limited to the J-M site property, assessment and remediation of off-site discharges
of asbestos must also be addressed. If in-place closure is pursued, grant deed restrictions
must be considered to prevent future incompatible land uses.
