a
K"t I\r File leo. S-•.1182.3 a
May 31, 1972
WAGE SIX
for the chlorides test, the test values from Boring 4 fall
within the range of values obtained from Borings 1, 2, and 3.
Other comments which can be made from a review of the test
results are the following: a
1. There appears to be a significant differ-
ence in the pH value of the plant
process _{
f F
water as compared to pH values of the soil 9'
samples and of the groundwater samples.
The average pH of the plant water is approxi-
mately 11. The average PH of the groundwater
samples is approximately 8.
2. The average values of total hardness are -`
much higher in the soil samples than in
either the process water samples or the
groundwater samples.
3. The indicator tests made on the soil samples
do not disclose any consistent variations
between Borings 1, 2 , and 3, and Boring 4.
In addition, there is no consistent variation
in these test values with depth.
4. From the data obtained, we find no evidnce
to indicate that the groundwater is affected
y the wastewater storage, at this time. It
is possible, however, that this could change
in the future.
v
r
