Golf <br /> Cours <br /> Under Study .� C <br /> 'h LODI — A proposal for a n <br /> le "executive" golf course along" <br /> the south bank of the Mokelumne, <br /> River, east of Highway 99, is being <br />--- studied by the county planning de <br /> partment: <br /> Sanitary City Disposal Co.,owner <br /> f the 37 acre site, is asking for a <br /> use permit for the facility, which <br /> would be developed by a group of <br /> local investors. <br /> Dario DeBenedetti, company gen- <br /> eral manager, said the property is <br /> particularly scenic riverbottom <br /> land, dotted with oak, willow and;.. <br /> cottonwood trees. <br /> - The 32-par course would cover <br /> ..,, me 2,300 yards, compared with..: <br /> ,200 to 3,300 yards for a full nine <br /> hole course and could be played in <br /> 11/4 hours or less, DeBenedetti said: - <br /> County planners said the pro- <br /> posed development appears to be <br /> compatible with the county plan for <br /> conservation use of both sides of the <br /> river. <br /> DeBenedetti said plans also call —for a restaurant on higher ground, <br /> _ overlooking the course. A golf driv- <br /> ing range is envisioned later at the <br /> north end of Cluff Avenue.
