Information:
Page 2
rocedure continued:
basically four areas : ground preparation, dumping, spreading
and drying.
` Prior to any application of waste, the ground is prepared by a,
removing any such stubble or remaining foliage. This is gen-
erally done through either burning or preferably a scraping
process.
All loads transported to the site are contained in watertight
.containers averaging approximately 20 cubic yards each. Upon
arrival drivers are instructed into which areas to unload. . ''
Unloading is generally done "on the run" to more evenly
distri—
bute the material to the soil.
After the load is expelled from the truck it is immediately
spread. The loads are spread through the use of 160 horse
power four wheel drive tractor and 12 foot land leveling drag-
scrapper. The waste material is then uniformly spread in a
one to three inch layer depending on the liquid content of the
materials. The waste is then allowed to dry for a period not
exceeding thirty six hours.
At the end df the initial drying period the materials are then
, fluffed. up for further airation. This process is done through ' `
' ;the implementation of the tractor and a vibrashank cultivator ,
(similar to a spring harrow) . This practice is continued
-daily until material has been throughly dried and incorporated
`. ;-into the soil. Then upon the request of the property owner '
„
the process may be repeated.
,
PESTICIDES TO BE USED:
'If necessary, Dibrom, an insecticide for fly control , will be
-`applied with a high volume ground spray unit.
CONTIGENT PLAN FOR SELECTION OF ALTERNATIVE SITE IF NECESSARY DUE
{} TO INTOLERABLE WEATHER CONDITIONS :
One quarter of a mile North-East of the present side lies a
section of higher land which is available to California Waste
f" Removal System; Inc. as an alternative site. This property is
also owned and' farmed by Allen Hansen.
PLANS FOR ACCOMODATING TRASTE IN THE EVENT WEATHER CONDITION BECOME `
ADVERSE TO NORMAL HANDLING PROCEDURES :
#` Should such a condition occur, California Waste Removal System,
,:Inc. has access to facilities which are normally used for approved
: ':ensilage purposes. All roads into the facility are either paved
or heavily gravelled to insure accessability. 3
Nh
 -; '' s}.rorty a -'vx,.' g ..._ '* y` .u''d'x. t-r t 3V.•' t
".afi
e F . c- ^x F *`.' •za.x „r -a. .: '` "3:_,*x' '. . '3 .r+ ^g c y.x Lid` .>
S
