Commerce <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> RE: 4599 Manthey Rd., French Camp, CA <br /> Field investigations conducted by the San Joaquin Local Health District staff at <br /> the above referenced location revealed a potentially hazardous condition. <br /> After considering several expert opinions and reviewing the available laboratory <br /> analysis for the burried waste material , the Health District feels that one of <br /> the following,corrective measures shall be implemented: <br /> Alternative I <br /> 1. Post the entire perimeter of the abandoned waste site with bilingual signs. <br /> Lettering shall be at least 3" in height. Signs .shall read: "Caution: Hazardous <br /> -Substance Area, Unauthorized PersonsKeep.:�0ut" and shall have `the,.name and phone <br /> number of the San Joaquin Local Health .D.istr„ict. Signsshall be posted at all <br /> entrances and at 330' intervals along the perimeter'of="the property -�(40 Code <br />- Federal Regulation Part 61.25 - Waste Disposal Sites). <br /> a <br /> 2. Secure the entire site to prevent entry from unauthorizedersonnel . (Approved <br /> methods of securement available from the Health District Staff. <br /> 3. Water down and cover the exposed asbestos waste material with at least 6" of <br /> clean compacted fill dirt. (This operation must be conducted in a safe manner <br /> which will not jeopardize the health and safety of the workers or the surrounding <br /> residents) . <br /> After completion of Alternate I the waste site would not be available for any <br /> type of farming or dev poe�T ment. <br /> Alternative II <br /> 1. Post the entire perimeter of the abandoned waste site with bilingual signs. <br /> Lettering shall be at least 31' in height. Signs shall read: "Caution: Hazardous <br /> Substance Area. Unauthorized Persons Keep Out" and shall have the name and phone <br /> number of the San Joaquin Local Health District. Signs shall be posted at all <br /> entrances and at 330' intervals *along the perimeter of the property. (40 _Code <br /> Federal Regulation Part 61.25 - Waste Disposal Sites). <br /> 2.
