The Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board will consider rescinding Waste
Discharge Requirements (WDRs) Order No. R5-2006-0024 at the 31 July/1 August board
meeting in Rancho Cordova. Staff is recommending rescension of the Order because the
Discharger has removed the lime ponds, which was the source of groundwater pollution. This
pond removal has resulted in significant improvement in groundwater quality. The remaining
groundwater pollution concentrations will continue to decrease and further remedial action is
not necessary.
