2441 W,Charter Way Page 3
Work Plan—Soil Boring Installation
' GPE Project No.667.2
June 21,2013
The regulatory status of the site is such that the landfill area my not have structures
constructed on it. If any new structures are proposed within 1,000 feet of the landfill
area, or if the land use is changed, restrictions imposed by State law (27-CCR-21190)
must be adhered to. The site is also bound by State law 27-CCR-21200 regarding any
change of ownership. The local planning agency must be notified so they may assess the
need for addition safety measures. Such measures would be likely to include such things
as vapor barriers under buildings and permanent methane monitoring devices. The
alternative would be to complete additional investigations of the landfill to better
determine its extent, contents, and the risk that hazardous chemicals such as methane
could be present or could migrate to affect inhabited spaces. CalRecycle also periodically
inspects the land to verify that the landfill cap remains undisturbed and that the natural
vegetation growing on it is kept under control.
2937 Veneman Ave.,#B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc.
