CA 91030 <br /> APPROVAL OF SOIL AND GROUND WATER POLLUTION INVESTIGATION PIAN, <br /> ARCADY OIL DRILLING IUD DISPOSAL SITE, HOLT' SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> We approve of the plan submitted by .Arcady oil on 14 February <br /> 1985 to investigate the soil and ground water pollution at the <br /> site, with the following additions: <br /> 1. As ordered in the Cleanup and Abatement Order .issued 11 <br /> October 1984 , the investigation shall be completed within 120 <br /> days of initiation <br /> 2. The volatile organic chemical (VOC) analysis shall consist <br /> of a scan of vinyl chloride and closely related chemicals. <br /> This should be performed using. EPA method 624 . <br /> 3. Prior to taking ground water samples n well shall be purged <br /> by pumping until at least two of the following three <br /> parameters are stabilized: pH,. electrical conductivity, and <br /> temperature. <br /> 4 . Sampling and preservation methods must be submitted to, and <br /> approved by, this office <br /> 5. All volatile organics samples must be refrigerated and <br /> delivered to the laboratory within acceptable EPA holding <br /> times. <br /> 6. .A registered geologist shall supervise construction and <br /> development of all monitor wells. <br /> 7. The screen%packing relationship shall be designed to <br /> preclude natti°e materials as much as possible. This design <br /> shall be determined by the particle size of the native <br /> material. <br /> 8. Permanent wells should be protected from vandalism by the <br /> use of locking. caps or similar methods <br />
