Arcady ,Oil Company -4- 30 August 1989
This would negate their value as upgradient wells. Water level measurements taken
during this inspection have confirmed, however, that the direction of ground water
flow is from M-3 and M-4 towards the waste.
The data collected during this monitoring event should be regarded as preliminary
data. Further monitoring may confirm or reverse the conclusions based on the data
collected during this inspection. The Regional Board has taken the first step in
establishing a database which is necessary to make a final determination as to
whether this site presents a significant threat to water quality. Arcady Oil
Company should continue monitoring ground water at this waste disposal site in order
to justify a closure alternative for the site.
Additionally, Arcady Oil Company should rebuild monitoring wells in the locations of
M-6 and M-7. These are vital data collection points, but the original well
construction was not adequate to ensure that water samples could be collected from
the wells.
ngineering Geo ogist
