i SAMPLING AND TEST PROCEDURES � ARCADY MUD DISPOSAL SITE 10/1/87 �x GROUND WATER SAMPLING: - On--Site - �. Fifteen monitor wells have been established at the Arcady Mud Disposal Site. Locations of these wells are shown on Figure 1. ` Numerous sampling programs have been undertaken at these wells. Condor is in the process of compiling and tabulating the results from p the previous programs. Condor proposes to do the following additional sampling to verify these results. Wells M-49 M-5, M-6, M-7, and M-8 are nominated as on-site monitor wells for sampling (see Figure 1). Before these wells are r sampled, static water levels will be measured at all existing monitor wells, Once static levels have been recorded, a sampling will begin at M-8. Ground water will be pumped until. stabilization is reached, or until at least 3 well volumes have been removed. At this time a water sample will be taken for analysis. This sample will consist Of two bottles as follows: 1) A one (1) liter polyethylene bottle left untreated, & 2) A one-half (1/2) liter polyethylene bottle filtered in the field ° through a 45 micron filter and treated with HNO3 to a pH of 2. E (for dissolved metals) Both bottles will be iced and sent to the laboratory for analysis in time to meet all required holding times. Field measurements will be taken for temperature, ph, and specific conductivity and recorded on Form GW-1 . Laboratory analysis will be run for the constituents and by the methods listed on Form GWANAL. Each sample will be accompanied to the laboratory by Form GW-1 and a Chain of Custody record. Following the sampling of well M-8, M-4, M-5, M-6, and M-7 will be sampled. Where possible samples will be taken following the purging of at least three (3) full casing volumes. Prior to pumping each well the pump and all piping will be thoroughly washed on site with a Trisodium Phosphate cleaning solution folloowed by steam cleaning. Sampling methods will follow the same procedures outlined for well M-8 in the preceding paragraph. - Off-Site - F'igure 2 shows the off-site water wells known to exist within a 2 mile radius of the disposal site. In order to establish existing off- site ground water quality conditions, Wells GW-101, GW-102, GW-103 and GW 106 are nominated for off-site sampling. Sampling at these wells will follow the same procedures outlined for on-site wells, and the water from each will be analyzed for the same constituents and by the same methods as the on-site wells.
