\ S 0 ~ <br /> AMENDMENT TO THE APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO OPERATE AUSTIN ROAD <br /> LANDFILL SITE <br /> Item #1 - Standby Equipment : <br /> The following pieces of excess equipment are stored at the <br /> Austin Road site and are available as standby equipment : one <br /> crawler tractor, D- 8 ; one scraper (18-yard) . All the equipment <br /> in use at the Austin Road landfill site is manufactured by <br /> Caterpillar Tractor Company and parts are available from Holt <br /> Bros. in Stockton, California. <br /> Item #2 - Fire Protection: <br /> The primary method of fire control at the site involves the use <br /> of soils and dirt moving equipment. Stockpiles of dirt are <br /> maintained at strategic locations , and the two D-8 crawler <br /> tractors are available for moving this dirt in an emergency. <br /> In addition to these two pieces of equipment, the compactor <br /> used on the landfill site can double as a loader if necessary. <br /> A 5, 000-gallon pressure water tank is filled and under pressure <br /> at all times at the site, and fittings on this tank are compatible <br /> with those commonly used by firefighting agencies. <br /> Item #3 - Total Acreage at the Site : <br /> The total acreage at the site is 180 acres . <br /> Item #4 - Monitoring of Leachate : <br /> The monitoring of leachate will take place semi-annually, in June <br /> and December, and chemical analysis will check the bacteriological <br />
