1
CITY10F STOCKTON
NOV Z Q 1989
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER PER:,`JMtI!.:?„
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95202-1997
TELEPHONE 209/944-e212
November 20, 1989
TO ALL HAULERS USING AUSTIN ROAD LANDFILL
The City has been put on notice by San Joaquin County Public
Health Services regarding the high tonnage of waste being
received at the Austin Road Landfill site. A copy of a letter
dated October 27, 1989, from Mr. Ron Valinoti is attached for
your information regarding this matter.
The present weight limit allowed by the California Waste
Management Board for the Austin Road Landfill is 512 tons per
day. Our records indicate that during the month of October, we
received an average of 611 tons per day. The daily residential
waste stream varies from 150 tons to 215 tons per day; the
balance of the high tonnage is a mixture of commercial and
industrial wastes.
In order to stay within the allowable limit of the waste stream,
effective November 27, 1989, all commercial and industrial waste
received at the Austin Road Landfill will be accepted on a first
come, first serve basis. The scale operator is directed to
refuse all commercial and industrial waste trucks as soon as the
292 -ton limit is reached.
I hope you understand that the City has no choice but to limit
the waste stream as outlined above. Your cooperation regarding
Feec
r will be appreciated. If you have any further
stspleas contact Stephen Chen, Deputy Public Works
r/ tr),6tW, at 944-8341.
ALXN 41-."
