CEQA Exemption File No.: CE Z - 89 Applicant: CITY OF STOCKTON - Stephen Chen, Deputy Public Works Director/Streets Project Description Location:T a So id Waste Facility Permit issued by San Joaquin Local Healt District on 2/1/83 indicates that the Austin Road Landfill was receiving 280 tons of solid wa8 per day whereas it has been receiving 500-600 tons daily. It appears that a mistake was made regarding the actual tonnage received in the application for the 1983 five-year permit. In or to correct this error or oversight made in the 1983 permit, the City, due to economic hardship Date of Project Approval: is requesting a Categorical Exempt from the CEQA requirement. DETERMINATION/FINDING OF E}CEMeITON The above described activity/project is exempt from the environmental assessment require- ments of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to the following section(s) of the State CEQA Guidelines (Cal. Admin. Code Title 14): The activity is not a "project" as defined in Section 15378. ' The activity is exempt under the "general rule" that CEQA applies only to projects which have the potential for causing significant environmental effects, as specified in Section 15061 (b) (3) . The project has been granted a "Statutory Exemption" under Article 18 and, specifically, by Section(s): X_ The project has been granted a "Categorical Exemption" under Article 19 and, specifically, by Section (s) : 15 OI �0) BASIS FOR FINDING OF EXEMPTION The activity does not qualify as a project and/or clearly could not have a signifi- cant effect on the environment and, therefore, CEQA does not apply.
