FEB -02-19% 13:24 FROM CA INTEGRATED k1ASTE MGNT TO 912094640138 P.02
A
U sti n Road Landfill Fxpansion (39 -AA -0001)
December 11, 1995
Y
showing the relationship tO the disposal -area.
As required by U CCR.18222(f), H_distaaces to the nearest
st=CtureS all be identified-,, No distance$ to the
nearest structures are identified in Drawings P1 through P4.
The distances to and an identification of these structures
should be provided. -
Excavation Stockpiling Plans,- APPe=d'x B'r Drawing ?2
4
kopendix B, Drawing P2, indicates that the sides Of the
borrow pit will have a Maximum Slope Of 1:1- This may cal -'se
some slope stabty cIIF nCer7Xs for the -disposal site due to
the proximity ofthe borrow Pit, Little Johns Creek, and t1 -_-
flood easement zone to the dizposal area. To ensure
laiadf ill . slope stability, the slope stability analysis
should include the existence of the borrow pit along with
Little Jdhns Creek as discussed in the next coment.
Surface Drainage Plans -.'Appendix B, Drawings pi, P6, P7 & P8
Appendix D in Appendix I contains the drainage system
analysis for a 100 year/24 hour storm event. The analysis
is limited to providing the flow contribution to Little
,Tohns Creek. The RDS1 sh6uld present the calculations for a
j-00 year/24 hour storm event which were used to determine
the dimensions of all surface drainage system components,
including Little Johns Creek. The flow direction and volume
in the drainage structures for the 100 Year/24 hour 8.torm
event should also -be indicated- In particular, the creek
and flood zone narrow considerably before making a tight
right angle tu= on the west boundary of the facility
property line. This location may prevent a worse case
scenario for erosion and flooding under a 100 year/24 hour
storm event..., Any dra ' inage plan analysis should include an
ation.
-....analysis of this loc
Additionally, the proximity of Little aohns Creek and.the
flood easement zone may cause s=e slope stabilitY Wnce=z
for the disposal site- To ensure landfill slope stabilicy,
the slope stability analysis should be performed under the
condition of a.i00 year/24 hour storm event, and include the.
existen6e of the borrow pit (as discussed in previous
comment), Little JOhns creek, and the flood easement zone. -
Site Access Plan Appeu4UXX, 2
As required by 14 CCR .17714, (t) raffic'Elow into, on, and
out of the disposal' site shall be in accord with the design
4ntent and in such a manner so as to minimize possible
t -
interference and safety problems for traffic on adjacent
