A separate letter, addressing <br />concerns with the DRAFT document resulting from our courtesy <br />review, will be forwarded in the near future. <br />2. Please submit, within 4 weeks of the date of this letter, a <br />schedule for accomplishing the following tasks: <br />a. Date for securing a revised contract with Pacific <br />Energy for maintaining and installing gas control <br />facilities for the expansion project. <br />b. Schedule for the installation of additional gas <br />monitoring probes to determine whether or not gas is <br />migrating across site boundary's. <br />C. Schedule for responding to CIWMB and LEA comments. <br />3. Figure 2, Land Use Map - Submit a revised land use map which <br />shows the current zoning and existing structures within a <br />one mile radius of the landfill boundary on a D size (24" x <br />3611) drawing in accordance with 14 CCR Section 18261.3. <br />4. Describe any procedures or plans you have in place for <br />decanting the residual water in the sedimentation basin <br />between storm events. <br />5. Provide cross sections and volume calculations which <br />demonstrate there is sufficient material in the soil <br />permeamability study area (Exhibit D) to provide final cover <br />material as well as daily cover. Describe operational <br />procedures that will be taken to insure that there will be a <br />sufficient amount of acceptable clay material for the <br />barrier layer set aside or stockpiled for the final cover. <br />6. Closure cost estimates should include the cost of <br />constructing a test pad and conducting appropriate quality <br />assurance tests on the test pad in accordance with 14 CCR <br />Section 17774. <br />7. Provide additional information to demonstrate the quantity <br />of soil amendments and fertilizer will be adequate to <br />sustain a vegetative cover. Also consider the feasibility <br />of preparing a demonstration plot to verify that the sterile <br />soil being produced from the on site borrow areas can be <br />treated to sustain a vegetative cover. <br />If you have any questions regarding the review process please <br />contact me at (916) 255-3838.
