EI Dorado Street <br />Stockton, CA 95202-1997 <br />RE: Financial Assurances Fund Documentation for Closure and Postclosure Maintenance <br />Funds of the Austin Road Landfill, Facility No. 39 -AA -0001 <br />Dear Mr. Miller: <br />The information I am requesting in this letter is needed to calculate the required amount of <br />coverage pursuant to Title 14, California Code of Regulations, Division 7, Chapter 5, <br />Article 3.5 (the Regulations), section ) 8282. Please provide the following: <br />1) The capacity filled from up to 60 days prior to 6-8-93, to up to 60 days prior to <br />6-8-94 (Cf of the "new" funding formula). <br />2) The remaining closure and postclosure maintenance cost estimates (Er of the "new" <br />funding formula) which is -the 1993 updated closure and postclosure maintenance <br />cost estimate (inflation factor of 1.026 (2.6%) for 1993) less the current fund <br />balance before the required 1994 deposit.. <br />3) The remaining permitted capacity (Cr of the new funding formula) which is the total <br />permitted capacity of 2,320,500 cy, less the cumulative capacity filled since <br />August 18, 1989. <br />4) The current fund balances for demonstration of closure and postclosure <br />maintenance. <br />"NEW" FORMULA: <br />Annual Capacity Filled (Cf) X Remaining Closure/Postclosure Cost Estimate (Er) = DEPOSIT <br />Remaining Permitted Capacity (Cr) <br />SAMPLE <br />ABC Landfill capacity filled from up to 60 days prior to 1993 anniversary date to up to 60 days prior <br />to 1994 anniversary date.
