Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-2009
ENVIRONMENT HEALTH DIVISION'S REVIEW OF DRAFT REPORT OF DISPOSAL SITE INFORMATION
(RDSQ FOR AUSTIN ROAD LANDFILL
Jon Whitehill of the Waste Board Permitting Division recently told us that they have
completed their review of the Austin Road Landfill draft RDSI. He said that they have sent
their comments to you for you to add any of your own comments before sending them on
to us for response. Steve Mindt of your staff said your ages --y does not intend to spend any
time reviewing the draft RDSI until you know that the City has possession of the Brocchini
property for lateral expansion of the landfill. In this regard, we want to tell you that the City
will take possession of the Brocchini property on April 9, 1996. Legal documents supporting
this fact are attached for your information.
As you know, Austin Road Landfill capacity is limited and the expansion permitting process
takes a lot of time to complete. We're therefore anxious to get your comments and those
of the Waste Board so that we can prepare a final RDSI and complete this element of the
Solid Waste Facilities Permit application package.
Can you help us keep the permitting process moving by quickly completing your review
and sending us the draft RDSI comments as soon as possible ? We certainly would
appreciate your cooperation. If there is anything we can do to expedite the application
please let us know.
/j Cff(

STEPHEN CHEN
DEPUTY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR, SOLID WASTE
SC/MM
Enclosure
cc: Dwane Milnes, City Manager
R.
