° V First Soil i ri for Austin fill and Frenchfill 1.0 Introduction Methane and oxygen gas concentrations are measured quarterly in all soil gas probes at the City of Stockton(City)Austin Road Landfill and French Camp Landfill.Results of these analyses for first quarter 2000 are presented in this report. 2.0 Austin Road Landfill Methane and oxygen measurements were collected at soil gas probes during February 2000. Initial soil gas sampling data for the new probes were included in the Fourth Quarter 1999 report,and are included in this report. Methane was not detected at any of the soil gas probes.Because the landfill did not operate after October 1999,the scalehouse operations office was not occupied or sampled during the January and February sampling events.The employee lunchroom trailer and both storage containers have been removed from the landfill and therefore were not sampled for landfill gas. 3.0 French Camp Landfill The first quarter 2000 soil gas monitoring results for French Camp Landfill are presented in Table 2. Methane and oxygen measurements were collected at all soil gas probes during February 2000.Soil gas probe locations for French Camp Landfill are shown on Figure 2. (The field worksheets are attached at the end of this report.)Probes SGP-4A,SGP-5A, SGP-6A,and SGP-8A were installed in October 1999.These probes were first sampled on January 7,2000,and the data are included in this report. SGP-8A was vandalized and could not be sampled in January.To prevent further vandalism,SGP-8A was moved approximately 100 feet west of its original location prior to being sampled in February. No methane was detected at any of the soil gas probes or in the scalehouse.No methane was detected at SGP-7A in January,but this probe could not be sampled in February due to low airflow. As of January 2000,both storage containers have been removed from the landfill and,therefore,were not sampled during the first quarter. RDD=3670672,DOC(IN"IWDOC)
