0 R e <br /> Fourth r 1999 <br /> Soil Gas Monitoringfor <br /> Austin fill and FrenchLandfill <br /> 1.0 Introduction <br /> Methane and oxygen gas concentrations are measured quarterly in all soil gas probes at the <br /> City of Stockton(City)Austin Road Landfill and French Camp Landfill. Results of these <br /> analyses for fourth quarter 1999 are presented in this report. <br /> 2.0 Austin Road Landfill <br /> Methane and oxygen measurements were collected at soil gas probes during sampling <br /> events in November 1999 and January 2000. (The field worksheets are attached at the end of <br /> this report.)Soil gas probe locations are shown on Figure 1,and the monitoring results are <br /> presented in Table 1.Probes 3B,7A,8A,9A,and 10B were installed in December 1999 and <br /> were first sampled on January 7,2000.Initial soil gas sampling data for the new probes are <br /> included in this report. All other probes were sampled on November 15, 1999. <br /> Methane was not detected at any of the soil gas probes.Because the landfill did not operate <br /> after October 1999,the scalehouse operations office was not occupied or sampled during the <br /> November and January sampling events. The employee lunchroom trailer and both storage <br /> containers have been removed from the landfill and therefore were not sampled for landfill <br /> gas. <br /> 3.0 French Camp Landfill <br /> The fourth quarter 1999 soil gas monitoring results for French Camp Landfill are presented <br /> in Table 2. Methane and oxygen measurements were collected at soil gas probes during <br /> sampling events in November 1999 and January 2000.Soil gas probe locations for French <br /> Camp Landfill are shown on Figure 2. (The field worksheets are attached at the end of this <br /> report.) Probes 4A,5A,6A,and 8A were installed in October 1999. These probes were first <br /> sampled on January 7,2000,and the data are included in this report. However,SGP-8A has <br /> been vandalized and could not be sampled. All other probes were sampled on November <br /> 15, 1999. <br /> No methane was detected at any of the soil gas probes or in the scalehouse.Only one of the <br /> storage containers could be sampled in November 1999,and no methane was detected;the <br /> other container was locked.As of January 2000,both storage containers have been removed <br /> from the landfill and therefore were not sampled for landfill gas. <br /> RDD/003670064.DOC(WPT144.DOC) <br />
