Landfill Green Waste Alternative Daily Cover (GWADC)
Project. San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (EHD)
will continue weekly project monitoring and submit bimonthly
reports to the Calif. Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) .
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS MONITORONG OBSERVATIONS AT BOTH LANDFILLS:
Flies-Very few or no flies have been observed during this
monitoring period.
Mosquitos, cockroaches, Wasps, and other vectors-None have been
observed.
Domestic Rats or Field Rodents-None have been observed.
Odor-None or insignificant.
Fire Hazard-low
Litter-litter has been a concern periodically.
PROBLEMS OBSERVED WITH THIS PROJECT:
1) At Austin Rd. Landfill (ARL) there have been instances of
using the geosynthetic tarp too much as an alternative daily
cover. Green waste has been in short supply and operator is
relying predominantly on use of the tarps or combination of tarp
and green waste to cover wastes daily.
A Di%inion of San joayuin County Health Care Services
