Lia <br />ENG Form <br />Supplemental i i Austin <br />The following information is provided in support of the Department of the Army permit <br />application (ENG Form 4345) for the Austin Road Landfill Expansion Project. <br />i <br />This application is for a Department of the Army permit under Section 404 of the Clean Water <br />Act to fill the existing channel to accommodate solid waste landfill expansion and realign <br />approximately 7,600 feet of the north branch of the south fork of Littlejohns Creek. <br />The applicant is the City of Stockton (City), Department of Public Works, City Hall, 425 <br />North El Dorado Street, Stockton, California 95202-1997 (209/937-8826). The City's contact is <br />Michael Miller and its agent is Ellyn Davis of Jones & Stokes Associates, 2600 V Street, Suite 100, <br />Sacramento, California 95818-1914 (9161737-3000). <br />RangeThe proposed project is located at the Austin Road Landfill, 3 miles southeast of the City, San <br />Joaquin County, California (Figure 1). The project site is located in portions of Township I South, <br />Range 7 East, Section 3 and Township I North, • 34. The projectapproximately I mile east of State •ute ,• and is bordered to the east by Road; to the north <br />by the Northern California Youth Center; to the south by the Forward, Inc. landfill; and to the west <br />by glands <br />PURPOSE AND NEED <br />To meet the long-term disposal needs of its increasing population, the City is proposing to <br />expand the Austin Road Landfill capacity. The existing landfill is expected to reach its planned <br />capacity within 5 years if the current waste stream is maintained.
