Foothill Sanitary Landfill Preliminary Closure Plan
Revision #1 May 6, 1994
COST - 20 ACRE EXISTING AREA
Landfill•
a. Seed @ 40 pounds per acre
($12 . 50/lb X 40 X 20) _ $ 10, 000
b. 16-20-0 fertilizer @ $200 per acre
($ . 50/lb X 400 X 20) _ $ 4, 000
C. Mulch @ $300/acre =
($ . 20/lb x 1500 X 20) = S 61000
Total Revegetation $ 20, 000
LANDFILL GAS MONITORING SYSTEM
A landfill gas monitoring system will be installed at the
Foothill Sanitary Landfill. It will consist of approximately 23
perimeter monitoring wells with 3 gas monitoring probes in each
well. The perimeter wells will be spaced no more than 1000 feet
apart and they will be drilled to the lowest elevation of refuse
within 1000 feet from the monitoring point. The probes will be
installed as each module is developed.
Should closure occur at the most expensive time in the landfill
life, it is estimated that a maximum of 15 perimeter monitoring
wells would provide sufficient coverage for the modified landfill
closure (10 wells to cover the 80 acre existing area and 5 wells
, for the 20 acre module)
5 . COST - 80 ACRE EXISTING AREA
A three probe gas well is estimated at $3 , 000 each
(10 X $3 , 000) _ $30, 000
COST - 20 ACRE LINED MODULE
(5 x $3 , 000) $15, 000
23
