12 LAND USE <br /> 12 . 1 Landfill Activities <br /> 12.1.1 Limits of Excavation <br /> The limits of on-site excavation by the Operator shall be according <br /> to plans which are provided by or approved by the CDPW. Conditions <br /> of excavation are described in Section 3 , Site Excavation. <br /> 12.1.2 Vegetation <br /> Vegetation for final cover will be installed by the CDPW staff or <br /> private parties under contract to the CDPW. <br /> 12.2. Water Management <br /> 12.2 .1 Surface Water <br /> The Operator shall provide interim drainage for the Landfill site <br /> face as described in Section 7, Site Drainage. Excavations outside <br /> of the limits of the fill excavation described in landfill design <br /> plans shall only be performed at the direction of the CDPW. Such <br /> excavation shall not alter the natural flow direction of surface <br /> water unless specifically directed by the CDPW. <br /> The CDPW will be responsible for all excavation and construction <br /> of drainage facilities outside of the limits of fill excavation. <br /> This may be performed by the CDPW or by the Operator at the written <br /> approval of both parties and appropriate regulatory agencies. <br /> 12.3.2 Groundwater <br /> The existing on-site domestic well will continue its current use as <br /> the supply well for landfill operations.
