Foothill Sanitary Landfill — Module 1 December 2003 <br />County of San Joaquin Job No. 031602.00.02 <br />6.0 POLYETHYLENE PIPE AND FITTING <br />6.1 Receiving Inspection <br />Upon arrival by truck shipment, Vector's CQA Monitor performed receiving inspection <br />that included, but was not limited to: 1) verify that the pipe was the proper size and <br />dimensions and that the perforations were the proper size 2) visually inspect that no <br />damage occurred to the pipe during transportation and handling, 3) verify and <br />document that storage of the pipe was in accordance with the Technical Specifications, <br />and 4) ensure that all documentation required by the specifications was received. Data <br />regarding the HDPE pipe is included in Appendix N. <br />6.2 Installation <br />Vector's CQA Monitor observed that the pipe was installed at the locations specified in <br />the construction drawings, and no damage occurred during the placement and backfill <br />around and over the pipe. Vector's CQA Monitor spot -monitored the butt fusion welding <br />operations to ensure that the welding followed the Technical Specifications. <br />As discussed in Section 4.5, the perforations in the pipe were reduced from the <br />specified size of 0.2 -inches to 0.18 -inches to allow for the change in the drainage gravel <br />specifications. <br />Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive - Grass Valley, CA 95945 • (530) 272-2448 <br />40 <br />
