n
Foothill Sanitary Landfill — Module 1 December 2003
County of San Joaquin Job No. 031602.00.02
8.0 MODIFICATIONS MADE DURING CONSTRUCTION
The following modifications to the Technical Specifications were made to the project
design and CQA program during construction.
® Specifications for minimum D85 particle size of drainage rock and pipe
perforation size. The minimum D85 particle size was changed from a particle
size of 0.45 inches to 0.37 inches as long as the perforation size in the pipe was
reduced from 0.2 -inches to 0.18 inches. This change was approved by the
Design Engineer in Submittal 25, and is included in Appendix P.
• Stormwater run-off interceptor. A stormwater interceptor was installed at the
southern leachate drainage trench to allow diversion of stormwater carried in the
LCRS system away from the leachate sump, thus minimizing the leachate
generation for Module 1. This interceptor was placed against, but is not attached
to the geomembrane, and is not part of the containment system. The interceptor
is temporary and has been placed such that it can be removed without affecting
the function of the liner and leachate collection systems. The figures for the
stormwater run-off interceptor are included as Exhibit E.
Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive • Grass Valley, CA 95945 • (530) 272-2448
42
