SECTION 01400 <br /> QUALITY REQUIREMENTS <br /> PART 1 GENERAL <br /> 1.1 SUMMARY <br /> A. This Section supplements the requirements specified in the Agreement <br /> Conditions. If the requirements between this Section and the conditions noted <br /> above conflict with each other, the CONTRACTOR shall adhere to the more <br /> stringent requirement. <br /> B. Section Includes: <br /> 1. General requirements for acceptance testing by the QA/QC <br /> CONSULTANT. <br /> 2. General requirements for control testing by the CONTRACTOR <br /> 3. Certificates of compliance. <br /> 1.2 SOURCE OF MATERIALS <br /> A. The CONTRACTOR shall notify the QA/QC CONSULTANT in writing of the <br /> sources from which he proposes to obtain material requiring approval, <br /> certification, or testing. Such notification shall be made as soon as possible after <br /> award of Contract but no later than 15 days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. <br /> 1.3 ACCEPTANCE TESTING <br /> A. Acceptance testing is the testing of materials prior to their use in the Work and <br /> also any testing deemed necessary by the QA/QC CONSULTANT for acceptance <br /> of the complete Work. The QA/QC CONSULTANT will perform acceptance <br /> testing of materials and workmanship in accordance with the Contract <br /> Documents, including the CQA Manual, and reserves the right to perform <br /> additional testing at any time to determine conformance with the Contract <br /> requirements. <br /> B. Acceptance testing by the QA/QC CONSULTANT is not to be considered as a <br /> replacement for control testing conducted by the CONTRACTOR or a <br /> manufacturer producing materials for the CONTRACTOR. Acceptance testing <br /> will be at the expense of the OWNER. <br /> 1.4 CONTROL TESTING <br /> A. Control testing is the testing of materials prior to their delivery from a <br /> manufacturer, or during construction, such as soils tests before and after <br /> compaction, concrete tests during placement, and such other tests as are specified <br /> in the various sections of the Specifications to ensure compliance with the <br /> Contract Documents. The CONTRACTOR shall assume full responsibility for <br /> control testing and give sufficient notice to the QA/QC CONSULTANT to permit <br /> him to witness the tests. Control testing shall be at the expense of the <br /> CONTRACTOR and shall be performed by an independent testing firm. <br /> B. The CONTRACTOR shall submit the name, address, and qualifications, together <br /> with the scope of proposed services, of the proposed testing firm to the QA/QC <br /> Forward Landfill WMU FU-04 <br /> 01400 1 QUALITY REQUIREMENTS <br />
