1.6 WATER FOR COMPACTION AND MOISTURE CONTROL <br /> A. Water for use in compaction and dust control will be provided to the <br /> EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR at Forward's well standpipe as shown on the <br /> Construction Drawings. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall be <br /> responsible for transport of water from well. <br /> 1.7 SHORING, SHEETING, BRACING, AND SLOPING <br /> A. Install and maintain shoring, sheeting, bracing, and sloping necessary to support <br /> the sides of excavations, to keep and to prevent any movement that may damage <br /> adjacent facilities, or endanger life and health. Install and maintain shoring, <br /> sheeting, bracing, and sloping as required by OSHA and other applicable <br /> governmental regulations and agencies. <br /> 1.8 EXCAVATION SAFETY <br /> A. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall be solely responsible for making all <br /> excavations in a safe manner. Provide appropriate measures to retain excavation <br /> sideslopes and prevent rock falls to ensure that persons working in or near the <br /> excavation are protected. <br /> 1.9 CODES, ORDINANCES, AND STATUTES <br /> A. The EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR shall be familiar with, and comply with, all <br /> applicable codes, ordinances, statutes, and bear sole responsibility for the <br /> penalties imposed for noncompliance. <br /> 1.10 TOLERANCES <br /> A. All material limits shall be constructed within the tolerances specified in Section <br /> 01410, SURVEYS. Minimum thicknesses and slopes shall be as shown on the <br /> Construction Drawings. All grading shall be performed to maintain slopes and <br /> drainage as shown. No reverse slopes will be permitted. <br /> PART2 PRODUCTS <br /> 2.1 GENERAL <br /> A.
