B. The OWNER will conduct detailed topographic surveys of site to document "as-
built" prepared subgrade on base and slope, thickness and grade of clay liner
installed, thickness of granular drainage layer installed, thickness of protective
operations layer installed, dimensions of termination berms and sumps,
terminations of geomembrane liner, and location of the interior crest of anchor
trenches. All surveys will be performed in accordance with Section 01410,
SURVEYS.
1. Measure area elevations on minimum 75-foot-grid over entire area and at all
breaks in grade.
2. Establish reference grid at minimum 75-foot centers for surveying materials
with a thickness requirement.
3. Measure linear dimensions a minimum of 75-feet on center.
4. Plot results of topographic surveys to scale of 1 inch equals 50 feet and
provide survey information in electronic format to QA/QC CONSULTANT.
5. QA/QC CONSULTANT will check the survey. The EARTHWORK
CONTRACTOR shall not construct next layer of the lining system until
survey approval is provided by the QA/QCCONSULTANT. QA/QC
CONSULTANT`s review shall be completed within 2 working days
following receipt of the as-built survey information.
3.28 ACCEPTANCE OF WORK
A. Final acceptance will be based on tests made on completed Work, on samples of
material taken from the completed layers, and the as-built surveys. Testing for
final acceptance will be performed by the QA/QC CONSULTANT in accordance
with the requirements of these Specifications and the CQA Manual.
3.29 REMOVAL OF WATER
A. Provide and operate equipment adequate to keep all excavations and trenches free
of water. Remove all water as required for efficient and safe execution of the
work, and as required by the QA/QC CONSULTANT. Avoid settlement or
damage to adjacent property. Dispose of water in a manner that will not damage
adjacent property. When dewatering open excavations, dewater from outside the
structural limits and from a point below the bottom of the excavation when
possible. Design dewatering system to prevent removal of fines from existing
ground.
PART 4 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT (Refer to Section 01200, PRICE AND
PAYMENT PROCEDURES)
END OF SECTION
Forward Landfill WMU FU-04
02300 28 EARTHWORK
