CAS Project No: P0802431
Project: Foothill Landfill,San Joaquin County/ 124591 (Ground Water)
CASE NARRATIVE
The samples were received intact under chain of custody on July 31, 2008 and were stored in accordance
with the analytical method requirements. Please refer to the sample acceptance check form for additional t
information. The results reported herein are applicable only to the condition of the samples at the time of
sample receipt.
Volatile Or anic o
C mnounds by EPA Method 8260B
Batch QC (Matrix Spike) was analyzed with the sample(s) and has been provided for informational
purposes only. Except as noted, the required control criteria were acceptable for the associated Method
Blank and Laboratory Control Sample.
The spike recovery. for Vinyl Acetate in the Laboratory Control Sample (LCS) identified as
PWG0801029-3 was outside the lower control criterion. The error associated with reduced recovery
equates to a potential low bias. The analyte in question was not detected in the associated field sample(s);
however, a Method Reporting Limit (MRL) check standard containing the analyte(s) of concern was
analyzed and verified that instrument sensitivity was adequate to detect the analyte at the MRL on the day
of analysis. Because the sensitivity was shown to be adequate to detect the compound in question, the
compound was not detected in the field sample(s), data quality is not significantly affected. No further
corrective action was taken.
Anions by EPA Method 300.0
No anomalies were encountered during these analyses.
The results of analyses are given in the attached laboratory report. All results are intended to be
considered in their entirety, and Columbia Analytical Services, Inc.
