HAZELTON AVENUE <br />STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95201 <br />(209)468-3000 FAX (209)468-2999 <br />www.sjgov.org/pubworks <br />SUBJECT: REVISED LANDFILL GAS MONITORING PLAN, FOOTHILL SANITARY LANDFILL <br />Dear Mr. McClellon: LA <br />Enclosed, please fend an update of the Landfill Gas Monitoring Plan for Foothill Sanitary Landfill. <br />This Plan incorporates the perimeter migration monitoring wells that were installed in 2009 in <br />accordance with California Code of Regulations (CCR) Section 20925 et seq. and with the <br />preliminary Plan submitted for your approval in September 2008. <br />Migration monitoring wells were drilled to an elevation of 160 ft. mean sea level (msl), 20 feet <br />below the present landfill design elevation of 180 ft msl. This allows the flexibility of lowering the <br />refuse 20 feet in the future, if needed. <br />Well SG -12 is retained in the monitoring network, as discussed. This well was installed in 2004 to <br />a depth of 218 ft msl in accordance with the regulations applicable at the time, which required the <br />wells to be drilled to the lowest elevation of the refuse within 1000 feet of the well. Presently, Well <br />SG -12 extends six feet below the lowest refuse in place (224 ft msl in Module 1); therefore, our <br />monitoring system remains in compliance until refuse is placed below 218 ft msl.
