Sathees Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. Weather: Clear Wind: 0-10 mph. Tem erature: Approx. range 60-85 F Other: The contractor worked from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Excavation: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Up to (2) CAT D6 and (1) CAT D8 dozers with ripper attachments assisted up to (4) CAT 627 and (2) CAT 637 scrapers load material from the excavation along northwest and east sides of the cell. The soil was hauled and stockpiled at North West Stockpile for use as daily cover for active landfill operations, to South Stockpile 2 for use as Operations layer soil, and to Earthfill construction along south side and east side (upper bench) of the Cell. The soil was hauled on an approximate 5 -min cycle. (1) CAT 627 scraper went idle in the afternoon. (1) CAT 14H motorgrader trimmed the upper slopes along north side of the cell. North West Stockpile: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. (1) CAT 14H motorgrader was observed spreading and grading the soil in the stockpile fill areas and maintaining haul roads. (1) CAT 621 water pull was used to maintain fill areas and haul roads. South Stockpile 1 (Fdn. Stk.): No activity was observed. South Stockpile 2 (Ops. Stk.): 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. The scrapers hauled the relatively sandy materials from upper slopes along northeast and east side of the cell and stockpiled for use as Operations Layer soil. (1) CAT D6 dozer spread the material to help break the big clods. Two composite samples were obtained, and the fines content were 26 and 29 % of the portion finer that 3/8 -inch. (1) CAT 14H motorgrader was observed spreading and grading the soil in the stockpile fill areas and maintaining haul roads. (1) CAT 621 water pull was used to maintain fill areas and haul roads. Access Road Embankment Fill (Earthfill): No activity was observed. Subgrade Earthfill along South side and east side (Upper Bench) of the Cell: 7:00 pm to 5:30 pm. (1) CAT 621 water pull moisture -conditioned the Earthfill. (1) CAT 825 compactor was used to break the big clods and to compact the Earthfill. The scrapers hauled the material from the excavation areas and placed Earthfill. Density testing on the Earthfill indicated compliance with the specifications.
