DAILY FIELD REPORT Page 1 of 1 Project Name: Foothill Sanitary Landfill - Area 2A Report Number: 007 Project Number: 11-101-01 Date: Tuesday 05/19/15 Owner: Dept. of Public Works, San Joaquin County CQA Monitors: T. Sathees Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. Weather: Partly cloudy Wind: 0-10 mph. Temperature: Ap2rox. range 55-85 F Other: The contractor worked from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Excavation: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Up to (1) CAT D6 and (1) CAT D8 dozers with ripper attachments assisted up to (4) CAT 627 and (2) CAT 637 scrapers load material from the excavation along north side of the cell. The sandy soil mixed with top organic soils was hauled and stockpiled at North West Stockpile for use as daily cover for current landfill operations. The fine- grained soil (brown silty sand) was hauled to the South Stockpile for use as foundation layer material. The soil was hauled to the stockpiles on an approximate 5 -min cycle. (1) CAT 14H motorgrader was observed part time fine grading the upper portion of north slope of the cell. In the morning, the CAT D6 dozer also removed the vegetation and topsoil at east side of the cell (upper slopes) and piled the soil for future hauling. North West Stockpile: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. (1) CAT 14H motorgrader was observed part time spreading and grading the soil in the Stockpile fill areas, and maintaining haul roads. (1) CAT 621 water pull was used to maintain fill areas, haul roads, and excavation areas. South Stockpile (Fdn. SUL): 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. The fine-grained brown silty sand material was hauled from the excavation to the South Stockpile for use as foundation layer material. One sample was tested and the fines content of the stockpiled material was 39 percent of the portion finer that 3/8 -inch. Access Road Embankment Fill (Earthfill): 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. In the morning, (1) CAT 825 compactor scarified and re - compacted the existing subgrade. (2) CAT 627 scrapers hauled the brown silty sand material from the excavation areas and placed thin lifts. (1) CAT 621 water pull moisture -conditioned the native subgrade and Earthfill. The CAT 825 compactor was used to compact the Earthfill. Density testing on the Earthfill indicated compliance with the specifications.
