Nogales Contractor: R J Gordon Construction, Inc. M. Hu and Weather: Clear - Hot Wind: 0-10 mph. Temperature: ApErox. range 68- 104 F Other: The contractor worked from 5:00 am to 4:30 pm. Operations Layer Processing: Contractor continued screening of operations stockpile today at 6:00 am. (1) Hyundai 480 excavator, (1) CAT D6 dozer (1) 950 M Loader was used to perform screening operations. Hyundai 480 excavator was used to load soil from the Western end of Stockpile 2 into the Power Screen screening plant. Screened product was stockpiled in a cone using a belt stacker to keep the screened soil separate from unprocessed soil. (1) 950 M Loader was used relocate +1" from under the belt into separate stockpile. (1) Sample collected from today's stacker belt stockpile. Full gradation was performed in field lab. Lab results indicated 100 % Passing 1" Screen. Screening operation ended at 3:30 pm. Operations Layer Placement: No activity observed today. (6) Operations Layer Samples from placed material were collected to send to Soils Laboratory for analysis. Gravel Drainage Material Placement: 19-20 various types of end -dumps were used to import Gravel Drainage Material (GDM) from the Cemex Rock Plant until 4:30 pm. Observed trucks operating on at least 3 ft of GDM overlying the Geomembrane. (1) CAT D6 LGP dozer equipped with GPS spread GDM in the center of cell floor pushing West this morning beginning at 5:00 am. (1) Laborer controlled wrinkles. GDM placement discontinued at approximately 11:00 pm due to moderate to heavy wrinkles observed in HDPE Liner. GDM import continued, with material stockpiled onto previously deployed GDM. Stockpiling was supported by the CAT D6 LGP Dozer and CAT D4 Dozer. AES QA personnel monitored the placement and verified the depths of the placed LCRS gravel by using a dulled probe. (1) GDM sample was collected at 9:30 am. Field gradation indicated the GDM met the specifications. Geotextile: No activity observed today Geocomposite: Geocomposite deployed on balance of east slope and portions of North slope. Observed nylon ties secured at 3 foot intervals along length and 6 -inch intervals along width. Geotextile seams were sewn using hand sewing machine. Installation resulted in horizontal seams on the slope. Horizontal seams are used on alternate runs down the slope, with single panels extending to the toe of slope on both sides of any horizontal seam. Leachate Collection Pipe: Contractor installed portions of Northern and Middle Leachate Collection Pipe. Approximately 100 If of 6" perforated HDPE pipe was placed today. (1) John Deere 410 Backhoe and (1) Cat 950 M Loader operating over completed operations layer soil was used to place coarse gravel over 6" Perforated HDPE Pipe. Coarse gravel and 6" HDPE pipe was wrapped in 8 oz/sy Geotextile. Gravel was measured to be a minimum 1 ft deep and a minimum 4 ft wide. Geotextile was measured to have a 2 ft minimum overlap. 24" HDPE Riser Pipe: No activity observed today. Equipment Onsite: (1) CAT D6T LGP dozer, (2) water trucks, (1) Hitachi 300 excavator, (1) CAT TH160B folk lift, (1) John Deere 410 Backhoe. (1) CAT 623 paddlewheel scraper.
