HARNEY LANE SANITARY LANDFILL
GENERAL INFORMATION
This facility is located on Harney Lane, between Tully and Jack
Tone Roads, about 9 miles east of the City of Lodi. It is owned
and operated as a Class III sanitary landfill by San Joaquin County
utilizing Department of Public Works Solid Waste Division staff.
The site is open from 7: 00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily and serves the
general public as well as the franchised collectors for the City
of Lodi, County Refuse Service Area B (see map) , and other County
Licensed Collectors which service the North County Area (Figure
1) . Approximately 2,700 tons of municipal, commercial, and
industrial wastes are delivered weekly to the landfill.
Following is a summary of the number and volume/weight of the loads
delivered to the landfill, and the special fees charged during
1990. Therefore, the County took steps to
prohibit collectors from bringing central County waste to the
Harney Lane Landfill. Thus, it is anticipated that waste quantities
will not increase as rapidly in 1991 as in the past.
6
