1 E. LOVELACE ROAD TRANSFER STATI®N
1. General Information:
A transfer station is a solid waste facility to which waste is
brought in smaller vehicles and then loaded into larger
1 vehicles for transporting to landfills. This system reduces
the cost of transporting waste to more distant landfills.
The Lovelace Transfer Station is located on Lovelace Road,
east of Airport Way between Airport Way and Union Road, about
five miles south of the City of Stockton. It is owned and
operated by the County and staffed by Solid Waste Division
employees.
The site is open from 6: 00 a.m. to 5: 00 p.m. daily to refuse
1 collection companies and the Cities of Manteca and Ripon, and
from 8:00 a.m. to 5: 00 p.m. daily to the general public.
1 2 . 1992 Waste Quantities (See also Appendices U through AE) :
1992 Waste Quantities
Tons % of Total
Refuse Collectors & the Cities 81, 161 63%
Self-Haul:
Weighed 13, 147 10%
Non Weighed 35, 471* 27%
Total: 129,779 100%
* based on monthly conversion factors (Appendix AC)
Waste Delivered by Collectors and Self-Haul
No. of Loads % of Loads
Refuse Collectors & Cities. . . . . . . . 13, 629 11.3%
Self-Haul • O 106,969 88.7%
Total: 120,598 100. 0%
Number and Weight of Self-Haul Loads
No. of Loads Waste in Tons
Minimum Fee Loads (non-weighed) . . 95,851 34,427*
Non-Minimum Fee Loads
1 Weighed . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9, 018 13 , 147
Non-Weighed 2 , 100 1. 044*
Total: 105, 095 48, 618
* based on monthly conversion factors
19
