To allow recovery and secondary <br /> use of sludge as alternative cover=or,other,soil amendments, the sludge must be <br /> processed and treated using various available meth .ta. Get,the:.,applicabJe <br /> regulatory standards. <br /> Future sludge treatment may include processes that.will be mandated by the final <br /> application. Methods using centrifuges are a possibility. The health and safety of Forward <br /> employees and all persons involved in the disposal of asbestos at'the landfifi is <br /> provided through responsible site operations and employee medical surveillance. <br /> The air, groundwater, and soil monitoring systems at the Forward Landfill have <br /> been designed, operated, and mains ' ed for optimal environmental protection. <br /> Forward regularly evaluates its asb stos-handlitig.procedures and .as needed, <br /> upgrades the site operations and standards to exceed those required by local, <br /> state, and federal regulations. <br /> The delivery of all ACM to the Forward Landfill must be scheduled at least <br /> 24 hours in advance. Upon arrival at the landfill, the haulers must provide the <br /> proper documentation, including a completed Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest <br /> and required notification and certification forms. All documents are checked by <br /> the scalehouse attendant for accuracy and completeness, and only then are the <br /> haulers allowed to proceed to the dumping area.
