entrance facilities and a 500-gpm well near the transfer station building. The transfer station has a 12,000-gallon water tank and a pressurized water system. Water uses include site construction and waste disposal operations, transfer station operations, dust control, equipment maintenance operations, sanitary facilities, fire fighting, and emergency situations. 6.6.3 COMMUNICATIONS Pacific Bell provides-telephone service to the site. The site offices and vehicles used for site operations are equipped with phones. The site has 7 telephone lines for business and emorgency.use .Jn addition, each.employee is.assigned a Motorola Handie Talkie FM radio for emergency and work communication. 6.6.4 LIGHTING Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) provides the primary electric service to the site. Electric power is provided to the office trailers and onsite pumping facilities. There is night/security lighting at,tfieiandfill and-trartsfer�station entrances. The landfill has two portable trailer-mounted generators, in case of an emergency or night lighting. In addition, the landfill has portable lights for operations after dark (i.e., in the winter). 6.6.5 SAFETY EQUIPMENT Forward has a number of site and personal safety procedures in place.
