Ac_ e <br />Acetone is a colorless liquid with a fragrant, mint -like odor. <br />Short-term exposure to acetone can cause eye irritation, dryness of <br />the mouth and throat, nausea, vomiting, headaches, drowsiness, <br />dizziness, light-headedness, weakness, incoordination, loss <br />Of <br />energy, fainting, and unconsciousness. Acetone easily penetrates <br />intact skin and is toxic by this route of exposure. <br />The PEL for acetone is 750 ppm in air. <br />• <br />
