C <br />Cresol (All Isomers) <br />Cresols are colorless crystals or liquids with an odor similar to <br />phenol or creosote. <br />Cresols can cause adverse health effects following exposure via <br />inhalation, ingestion, or dermal or eye contact. - <br />Short -term exposure to cresols can cause muscular weakness, nausea, <br />vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, dimness of vision, <br />ringing in the ears, weak pulse, rapid and labored breathing, <br />fainting, and mental confusion and depression. Skin irritation and <br />burns can also occur. Eye contact with cresols can cause a tenstve <br />damage and blindness. <br />The PEL for cresols is 5 ppm in air. <br />• <br />0 17 <br />
