Methyl Isobutyl Ketone <br />Methyl isobutyl ketone is a clear liquid with a characteristic <br />odor. <br />Short-term exposure to methyl isobutyl ketone can cause irritation <br />of the conjunctiva, mucous membranes of the nose and throat, and <br />produce eye and throat symptoms. Methyl isobutyl ketone can also <br />cause narcosis with symptoms of weakness, headache, nausea, light- <br />headedness, vomiting, dizziness, and incoordination. <br />The PEL for methyl isobutyl ketone is 50 ppm in air. <br />• <br />0 40 <br />
