The processing pad is an 8- <br /> inch thick reinforced concrete slab. <br /> 6.5.1 COMPOST OPERATIONS <br /> Currently, compost operations are not conducted at the Forward Landfill. In the <br /> event that compost operations are re-implemented, the LEA will be notified and <br /> if necessary, a revised description of operating procedures will be submitted in <br /> the form of a JTD amendment. <br /> 6.6 HEALTH AND SAFETY <br /> The following ongoing practices minimize potential health hazards to site <br /> operating personnel: <br /> • Training and directing all site personnel to identify potentially harmful wastes <br /> that may be delivered to the site. <br /> • Mandatory asbestos training program to inform asbestos workers of potential <br /> health hazards associated with asbestos. <br /> • Minimizing the personnel's exposure to wastes that may present a health <br /> hazard. <br /> • Maintaining on-site first-aid supplies. <br /> • Training site personnel in safe operating procedures (including Hazardous <br /> Materials [HAZMAT] screening classes as appropriate) and compliance with <br /> operating provisions. <br /> • Using personnel protective equipment at all times. <br /> • Vehicle speed limit on internal unpaved roads set at 10 mph. Speed limit <br /> signs are posted at the landfill entrance facility. <br /> A Health and Safety Plan has been prepared for the Forward Landfill and a copy <br /> is kept in the office.
