I met with the Sukut
foreman in the early morning to discuss this week's plan of attack. He stated that they would remove the
mud from the area, begin hauling ops layer tomorrow and on Wednesday begin hauling granular drainage
material.
They began removing the saturated material from the top of the clay stockpile with the dozer in
preparation for tomorrow's operations layer hauling. The sump pump continued pumping rainwater from
the sump area throughout the day. Laborers rolled out the geotextile which had been wind blown from the
south central FLT-03 cell floor.
Rainwater had run off the northeast slope just east of the cell and had run under the liner at the end of the
grouted anchor trench. Water had collected under the liner at the point where the gravel placement had
stopped, approximately 100 feet south of the 2:1 toe of slope. After discussing this with the Vector project .
manager,Montie C.,at approximately 11:30am a hole was cut in the liner to release the water and let it flow
in the east"V"ditch on top of the liner. The water continued to flow for approximately four hours. At a
later date, the secondary clay liner will be inspected for water damage.
In the late afternoon,Butch S. (Forward)stated that there is a meeting scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00
am.
Prepared By: Reviewed By:
4/23/03,Rev. 0 1 of 1
ra
