Prior to placing the eight-ounce(8 oz) geotextile, the
thickness of the drainage rock was checked with the measuring rod and also placed using a GPS system
attached to the dozers. Operations layer was placed in the southwest comer of the cell. The operations layer
material was taken from the on site stockpile. A new Guinn superintendent and foreman arrived on site
today,Jay Wellen and Curtis Donahue, respectively. After meeting with them, they stated that they would
remove the cell sump pipe, discard the saturated geotextile from the sump, clean the rocks out and begin
placing new geotextile. These tasks were completed by shift's end.
I informed the liner installer's superintendent that his presence would be required at the middle or end of
this week and that I would try to give him 24 hours advanced notice.
One sieve analysis was completed and another sample obtained of the granular drainage material. The
sieve was within specifications.
Prepared By: Reviewed By: --70
4/23/03,Rev. 0 1 of 1
r-,
