The 16G blade continued cutting
the sump area out of the south end of the FU-03 cell floor in the morning. In the afternoon, the blade moved
onto the clay stockpile to rip in front of the scrapers. The D6 dozer and the D5 dozer cut the west slope and
southeast comer of the FU-03 cell as one scraper hauled the excess cut material to the fill area on the floor.
The other scraper continued hauling clay out of the stockpile to the east and placing it on the central and
north central floor. The 825 sheepsfoot supplied compactive effort to the native clay throughout the day. In
the late morning,Jim H. (Sukut)stated that he would be leaving site and be returning on the 27`h of this
month. Dave Hasal would be the acting superintendent in his absence.
In the early morning, trucks began to arrive on site with various components of the liner system. The
material was logged in,unloaded and consisted of the following:twelve(12)rolls of 60 mil textured HDPE,
eighty-three(83)rolls of geosynthetic clay liner(GCL), seventy(70)rolls of geocomposite, and sixty-nine
(69)rolls of 12oz. geotextile. The foreman for GSE stated that they would be on site for the rest of the week
to unload the various materials as they arrive and to fill sand bags.
The four(4)drive tube permeability samples obtained yesterday were delivered to off site Vector
personnel for delivery to the laboratory this evening.
On site lab testing of the native clay material continued with two(2)sieve analysis samples set up for
minus 200 wash tomorrow.
Two(2)conformance samples of the GCL were cut from random rolls and delivered to the FedEx office
for shipment to an off site laboratory.
At the request of Bryan F. (Vector),one(1) sample of the l2oz. geotextile was obtained for laboratory
testing and will be delivered to off site Vector personnel tomorrow.
Prepared By: Reviewed By:
4/23/03,Rev. 0 1 of 1
r-,).
