modifying the design criteria for the existing Austin Road Landfill areas to
incorporate Class II design criteria such as designing for the Maximum Credible
Earthquake (MCE) and a 1,000-year, 24-hour storm event. Landfill operations
would be consistent with those currently being implemented at the existing
Forward Landfill.
Forward has performed a health risk assessment to assess potential environmental
impacts of the revised waste stream. The health risk assessment was completed in
March 2002. The health risk assessment is discussed further in the Draft
Environmental Impact Report.
Forward is permitted to accept a maximum of 8,668 tons/day of Group III Wastes
and Group II Wastes for disposal (i.e., Group II Wastes that cannot be diverted
from disposal for beneficial use) as described above.
4.3.1 MATERIALS ACCEPTED FOR BENEFICIAL REUSE
In addition to this tonnage, Forward accepts other materials for beneficial uses
such as alternative daily cover (ADC), wet weather deck preparation, internal haul
qW road improvements and earthen drainage control improvements.
