Our intent is to reach a mutually agreeable resolution to the issues raised in your
inspection report and to clarify other outstanding issues. As noted in our May 5, 2005
transmittal, we continue to believe that the Forward Landfill is in compliance with its
Solid Waste Facility Permit relative to the matters discussed in our correspondence.
However, we realize you have concerns about these issues and we are willing to work
with you and the CIWMB so that all sides have a common understanding of the steps that
will be taken to resolve your concerns and the issues discussed above. We hope that this
process will allow us all to move forward with a strong commitment to compliance and
cooperation. To that end, we trust that items that are in dispute will not continually be
listed as violations in your future inspection reports but simply as Areas of Concern.
We look forward to meeting with you at your earliest convenience to discuss these
matters in more detail and continuing towards strengthening our working relationship.
Sincerely, /
Kevin Basso
General Manager
cc: Geralda Stryker, Supervising IWMS
Mark de Bie, Branch Manager
r
U
