C
Green Waste Procedures for the Green Waste loads diverted from the City of
Stockton's Green Waste collection program
• Loads will be directly diverted to Forward's compost/transfer yard
• During the inspection and sorting process loads will be spread using a front loader
across a 1 acre concrete pad, this area is large enough to accommodate all the
green waste collected from the City of Stockton. Typically during inspection and
sorting this material will be spread from 6 to 18 inches in depth (dependent on
level of contamination)
• All loads will be inspected for unacceptable containments and Forward's
personnel will remove any unacceptable containments. Unacceptable
containments includes material that does not meet the definitions as found in Title
14 CCR and Title 27 CCR, specifically any food waste items, i.e. Meat and dairy
products.
• All removed items will be deposited in refuse bins and transported to Forward
landfill for disposal.
• After, but not until, the next route load of green waste is delivered to the tipping
area, the spread green waste material which has been inspected and has had the
containments removed will be piled for loading. This material will be transported
to the grinding yard located at the landfill for further processing.
• Currently Forward has two employees at the transfer yard to inspect, spread and
sort the green waste material. Forward's management staff will provide the
manage oversight for this program.
