1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> On behalf of Forward Inc. (Forward),this report presents water quality monitoring data <br /> generated during the second quarter 2006 monitoring period for the Forward Landfill in <br /> San Joaquin County, California. Monitoring was performed in accordance with <br /> requirements listed in the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> (RWQCB)Order No. R5-2003-0049. For reporting purposes the water quality <br /> monitoring network consists of two units: the Forward Unit and the Austin Unit. Section <br /> 1 provides a description of the monitoring network, site inspections, and standard <br /> observations; and Sections 2 and 3 include discussions of water quality data for the <br /> Forward and Austin Units,respectively. <br /> 1.1 MONITORING NETWORK <br /> The water quality monitoring network at the Forward Unit currently includes 19 <br /> groundwater monitoring wells,one domestic well,two surface water monitoring stations, <br /> and 15 lysimeters (Figure 1-1). Monitoring wells at the Forward Unit have been <br /> constructed to monitor groundwater at the facility as follows: <br /> Forward Unit Groundwater Monitoring Network <br /> Monitoring Point Monitoring Point I.D. <br /> Groundwater Monitoring MW-22,MW-23R <br /> Wells—Background <br /> Groundwater Monitoring MW-1A/B,MW-2A/B,MW-3AB,MW-10, <br /> Wells—Compliance MW-13A/B,MW-14A/B,MW-15,MW-16,MW-17,MW-18, <br /> MW-19,MW-21 <br /> Domestic Well DW-9690 <br /> Piezometers MW-1B,MW-213,MW-3B,MW-1313,MW-14B <br /> Surface Water Stations FSW-1,FSW-2 <br /> Lysimeters. E-1,E-2,W-1,W-2,LY-A,LY-BG1,LY-E113,LY-132A, <br /> LY-13213,D93A,D9313,DO1,D02,FU-03,Leachate Pond <br /> The monitoring network at the Austin Unit currently includes 17 groundwater monitoring <br /> wells and two surface water monitoring stations (Figure 1-1). The detection monitoring <br /> program(DMP)wells are used to detect a potential release from the landfill, while the <br /> corrective action program(CAP)wells are used to evaluate changes in water quality <br /> caused by a release from the landfill and by subsequent corrective action measures. <br /> Monitoring wells at the Austin Unit have been constructed to monitor the groundwater at <br /> the facility as follows: <br /> D:X2003_021TorwardAusNn_sp06.doe <br /> 1 Geologic Associates <br />
